1st Private Equity & Venture capital Annual Report 2006
The Gulf Venture Capital Association’s First Annual Report titled “Private Equity and Venture Capital in MENA Region 2006” will be published by GVCA and KPMG in collaboration with Zawya Private Equity Monitor. The Gulf Venture Capital Association (GVCA) will collect and analyze Private Equity (PE) & Venture Capital (VC) statistics in conjunction with its research partner, KPMG. The report will focus on the following key issues,
- Current status of PE/VC in the Region
- Emerging Trends of PE/VC in MENA
- PE/VC Leading Practices: What can we transfer to MENA
- Issues and Challenges Facing PE/ VC in MENA
- Directory of PE/VC firms in MENA
In addition the report will also include the following:
- A survey of 25 companies in MENA which received Private Equity investment. The companies will detail the contribution that PE has given to their progress, and this survey will be used to convince regional governments of Private Equity industry’s positive impact on the economy
- Directory of PE/VC firms
- GVCA membership directory
- Directory of PE/VC services providers
Objectives
- Create comprehensive and accurate source for all PE/VC data
- Establish a baseline for Private Equity/Venture Capital activities in MENA for future reference and updates
- Provide needed industry statistics to GVCA members, media and policymakers
- Develop research capabilities that will enable GVCA to better represent the interests of the Private Equity and Venture Capital communities in the Region.
- Assess the economic impact of Private Equity/Venture Capital activities
The report is scheduled to be released in November 2006 at an inaugural event which will be held at Dubai. All those who wish to participate or know more about this report are requested to contact the GVCA.
